Winning the right to vote was a hard-fought battle for women. Many Iowans were at the forefront of this effort.

The Grout Museum of History & Science in Waterloo is opening a new exhibit on January 31, 2020. Remember the Ladies: The Path to Suffrage 1776-1920 on display through March 31, 2021. In this one-of-a-kind exhibit, explore the relationship between suffragists in Iowa and the Cedar Valley and the national movement and learn about the changing roles of women throughout the 20th century.

Viewing this exhibit is included with regular museum admission: $12 Adults, $6 Veterans & Children 4-13, 3 & under and museum members are free of charge.

This exhibit will also include a “Remembering Our Ladies Recognition Wall” that will allow the public to honor special women in their life with a personalized rosette. Each rosette is $19 and can be purchased at gmdistrict.org/rldonorwall.
