The Johnson County Sherriff’s Office posted the incident on Facebook saying the coyotes were unlawfully left in a road ditch. The post says that “Iowa's wanton waste law requires that the usable portion of the game or fur-bearing animals be removed from the field.”

An additional group of coyote carcasses was found on Ivy Ave SW, north of 400th Street SW in Johnson County.
