Funeral Announcements – Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019:

A Mass of Christian Burial for an Elkader man, 87-year-old Joseph Emmet Dougherty, will be held Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader. A private ceremony for the family will follow at the church cemetery. There will not be any visitation prior to services. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family.

Funeral services for a Lansing man, 94 year old Iva Althoff, formerly of Waukon, will be held Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, also in Waukon. Friends may call Friday from 10:30 AM until time of services at the Church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.

A rural Arlington man, 57-year-old John Michael Fedeler, died Dec. 11. A prayer service will be held tonight at 6:30 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Funeral services are pending with Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Arlington.

A memorial service with military honors for a Manchester man, 79-year-old Frank David Ratzlaff, will be held Friday at 3 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manchester. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 2:55 PM, before the service, at the church. Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial for an Oelwein woman, 80-year-old Patricia A. Smith, will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, with interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fairbank. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. A parish scripture service will be held Friday at 7 PM, also at the funeral home.

Funeral service for a Garnavillo man, 86-year-old Carl Louis Kuehl, will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. Interment will be in Garnavillo Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the church. Visitation will also be held Saturday one hour prior the start of services, also at the church.
