FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021:

A Quasqueton man, 48-year-old Chad Schwarting, died Saturday. A Celebration of Life open house will be held Saturday from 2 to 8 PM at the rural Independence home of Shawn and Lisa Franck, with memory sharing at 4 PM. Private graveside services will be held at Rowley Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5 to 8 PM at Reiff Family Center - Funeral Home in Independence.

A Celebration of Life service for an Elkader man, 95-year-old Boyd Rodamaker, will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Garnavillo Community Center, following Saturday's 1 PM burial at Garnavillo Community Cemetery. Leonard-Grau Funeral Service of Elkader is assisting the family.

A former Nashua man, 62-year-old Steven Becthold of Boone, died Saturday. Friends may greet the family Friday from 4 to 7 PM at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a rural Independence man, 69-year-old Steven Krempges, will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7:30 PM at Reiff Family Center - Funeral Home in Independence, along with a 4 PM Rosary and a 7:30 PM Parish Vigil Service.

Private family services will be held for an Elkader woman, 97-year-old Vila Schroader, who died Monday. Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Luana. Schutte-Grau Funeral Home of Monona is assisting the family.

Services for a Waverly man, 38-year-old Tom Way, Jr., are Thursday at 4:30 PM at Crosspoint Church in Waverly. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home of Waverly is assisting the family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a former Colesburg resident, 95-year-old Dorothy Lake of Manchester, will be held Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, with burial in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Colesburg. Visitation is Friday from 8 to 11 AM at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a former Postville resident, 95-year-old Anna "Lucille" Hanson of Galesburg, Illinois, will be held Friday at 11 AM at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home in Postville and Friday one hour before the funeral mass at the church.

A Charles City man, 91-year-old Lynn Poppen, died Monday. Private graveside service and Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date. Hauser-Weishaar Funeral Home of Charles City is in charge of arrangements.
