Sept. 1 funeral announcements

A memorial service for a Fredericksburg woman, 84 year old Patricia "Patti" Glenn, will be Friday at 10am at the New Sweden Lutheran cemetery in rural Lockridge. Burial will follow. Hugeback Johnson funeral home in Fredericksburg is in charge of arrangements.

Services for a rural Waverly man, 82 year old Larry Dean Taylor, are Friday at 10:30am at St. John's Lutheran church-Western Douglas. Burial in Harlington cemetery in Waverly. Visitation is an hour before services at the church. Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly is assisting the family.

A Waverly man, 71 year old Gary "Bix" Bixler, died Saturday. A private graveside service will be held at Harlington cemetery, with military rites. A "party" for Bix will be held at a later date. Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly is handling arrangements.

A former Oelwein woman, 85 year old Mary Redmon of Marion, died Sunday. A private family memorial service will be held at Jamison Schmitz funeral home in Oelwein. Inurnment at a later date in Greenwood cemetery in Westgate. Visitation is 4:30 to 7pm Thursday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A Lisbon woman, 58 year old Deanna Kerr, died Saturday. A visitation will be held Saturday from 1-3pm at Postville cemetery. Graveside services will start at 3pm Saturday in Postville cemetery. Schutte Grau funeral home in Postville is assisting the family.

A Mitchell woman, 79 year old Madelyn Stayner, died Saturday. A private family funeral service will be held Friday at 1pm at Champion funeral home in Osage. Burial in the Osage cemetery. Visitation is an hour before the service at the funeral home.

Services for a Rowley woman, 73 year old Cheryl Price, are Friday at 10:30am at the Reiff Family Center in Independence. Burial in Rowley cemetery. Friends may call 4-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for an Independence man, 64 year old Gregory Shannon, will be held Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Crowbar in Independence.

Memorial services for an Oelwein man, 83 year old Richard Gehrke, are Friday at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Oelwein. Inurnment in Woodlawn cemetery. Visitation is an hour before services at the church.
