March 17 funeral announcements

Due to the spread of the covid 19 virus, some families have decided to alter, postpone or cancel family funerals.

A Waverly man, 74 year old John Raap, died Friday. Services will be private at St. Mary Catholic church. Visitation is 4-7pm Tuesday (today) at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly, with gatherings limited to 50 people at a time. Private burial at a later date in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.

A McGregor woman, 71 year old Sandra Schlitter, died Saturday. A private family funeral service will be held at Living Faith United Methodist parish in Giard. Burial in Giard cemetery. A private family visitation will be held at Leonard Grau funeral home in Monona. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Services for a Cresco man, 98 year old Theodore "Ted" Crow, have been changed. A private family mass will be held. Hindt Hudek funeral home is assisting the family.

There are changes for the service of 93 year old Grover Fauser of Waterloo: a graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11am at Garden of Memories. Visitation is 5-7pm Tuesday at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Denver, and 9am to 10:30am Wednesday. The gatherings are limited to 10 visitors at a time.

Due to health concerns, the memorial service and visitation for Dan Pattschull are postponed to a later date. Hugeback Johnson funeral home-Olson Chapel in Nashua is handling arrangements.

Services for an Elkader man, 34 year old Carl Burgin, are cancelled. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Leonard Grau funeral home in Elkader is helping the family.

A Stacyville man, 89 year old Paul Weis, died Monday; a private funeral service and visitation will be held. Burial in Visitation Catholic cemetery in Stacyville, with military honors.

A former Guttenberg man, 53 year old Loren Hefel of Dubuque, died Sunday. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Tuecke Allyn funeral home in Guttenberg is handling the arrangements.

The memorial service and vistation for 94 year old Maxine Phillips has been postponed to a later date.
