June 6 funeral announcements

Services for an Independence woman, 94 year old Leona Bearbower, are Saturday at 11am at White Funeral home in Independence. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. Friends may call an hour before services at the funeral home.

Memorial services for a Finchford woman, 78 year old Gerry Lou Rindels, are Saturday at 10am at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly.

A Celebration of Life for a Waukon man, 59 year old Terry Johnson, will be Sunday from 11am to 2pm at the Jaycee Shelter in the Waukon City Park. Martin funeral home in Waukon is handling arrangements.

Memorial services for an Oelwein man, 70 year old John Hamilton, are Friday at 4pm with military honors, at the American Legion in Oelwein. A celebration of life will be held an hour before services at the Legion. Geilenfeld funeral home in Oelwein is in charge of arrangements.

Public funeral services will be held this Saturday, for an Alta Vista child who died in August of 2017. The service for Baby Sterling Koehn is set for Saturday at 10am at the Alta Vista Municipal Hall. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Alta Vista. Anyone touched by Sterling's life and death is invited to attend the service. Donations for Sterling may be made to the Chickasaw County Child Abuse Prevention Council in New Hampton.

Memorial services for an Osage man, 93 year old Galen Docken, are Friday, June 14th, at 10:30am at Rock Creek Lutheran church in Osage. Inurnment in the church cemetery with military honors. Friends may greet the family after the service at the church.
