Funeral Announcements - Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019:

Funeral services for a Tripoli woman, 83-year-old Joyce J. Nuss, will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. Interment will be held Monday at 2 PM at Hawkeye Cemetery in Hawkeye. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli and Monday for one hour preceding the services at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a former Cresco man, 61-year-old Robert Roman of Anamosa, will be Saturday at 11 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco is assisting the family.

Funeral services for a an Oelwein man, 72-year-old Rollyn L. “Butch” Schroeder, will be held Monday at 2 PM at Peace Lutheran Church in Oelwein. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and Monday for one hour before the service at the church.

A Celebration of Life for a Sumner woman, 71-year-old Diane Pauline Buhr, will be held on Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM at St. John Lutheran Church Parish Hall in Sumner. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting the family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for an Oelwein woman, 80-year-old Patricia A. Smith, will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fairbank. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. A Parish Scripture Service will be held Friday at 7 PM at the funeral home.

A rural Independence man, 91-year-old John G. Hosmer, died on Monday. An informal burial has been scheduled for Saturday at 9 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation Friday from 4 to 6 PM at White Funeral Home in Independence, where a military service will begin at 5:30 PM.
