Sept. 23 funeral announcements

Memorial services for a Decorah man, 94-year-old John C. Bale, will be held Thursday at 1 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Decorah, with inurnment in Lutheran Cemetery, also in Decorah. Visitation will be held for one hour Thursday, beginning at Noon, at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a Manchester man, 83-year-old Robert William Morris, Senior, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call on Wednesday from 9 to 10 AM, also at the funeral home.

Funeral services for a rural Maynard woman, 72-year-old Janet C. Rhoades, will be held Wednesday at 1 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Maynard with inurnment Thursday morning in Long Grove Cemetery, also in Maynard. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard and for one before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial services for a Decorah woman, 65-year-old Pamela J. Gipp, will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Decorah Lutheran Church with inurnment at Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Tuesday, one hour before the service, at Decorah Lutheran Church.

Memorial services for a Shell Rock woman, 84-year-old Marlys Ann (Crawford) Swinton, will be held today at 11 AM at First Baptist Church in Waverly, following a 9:30 AM burial at Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainfield. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family with arrangements.

Funeral services for a Waterloo man, 88-year-old Henry Junior “Bud” Lobeck, will be held Tuesday at 1 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Waterloo. Burial will be held in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Sumner, with military rites at the grave by Acker-Matthias American Legion Post #653 of Denver. Visitation will be held Tuesday, one hour prior to services at the church.

A Celebration of Life for a West Union man, 63-year-old Danny J. Davis, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. A public visitation will be held from 3 to 6 PM Tuesday at the church. S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Fayette is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial services for a Decorah woman, 86-year-old Patricia Joan (Grindeland) Usgaard, will be held Friday at 2 PM at Decorah Lutheran Church. Private family inurnment will be in Big Canoe Lutheran Cemetery, rural Decorah. Visitation on Friday begins at 1 PM, one hour before the service, at the church. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Deocrah is serving the family.

Memorial services for a former Manchester woman, 89-year-old Dorothy Jean Strasburg of Suffolk, Virginia, will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. The family will great friends from Saturday from 10:30 AM to service time at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to a reception/luncheon following the service at The Bread Basket in Manchester. Leonard-Muller Funeral Home and Crematory in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

A visitation for an Oelwein man, 34 year old Benjamin "Ben" Campbell, will be Friday from 4-7pm at Geilenfeld-Buehner funeral home in Oelwelin. A celebration of life will follow at Mona's Firepit and Pub in Oelwein.

Visitation is Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9am until services at the church. Becker Milnes funeral home in Hawkeye is assisting the family.

Services for a McGregor man, 83 year old Russell Davis, are Saturday at 10:30am at First Lutheran church (Swede Ridge-Rural McGregor). Burial in Little Norwegian cemetery in McGregor. Visitation is 4-7pm Friday at Thornburg Grau funeral home in McGregor, and an hour before services at the church.
