Sept. 14 funeral announcements

Services for a Decorah woman, 89 year old Darlene Larson, are today (Monday, Sept. 14) at 2:30pm at Phelps cemetery in Decorah. Visitation is an hour before the service at the cemetery. Fjelstul funeral home is assisting the family.

Services for a Winthrop woman, 78 year old Marilyn Whitney, are Wednesday at 10:30am at the Church of Christ United in Winthrop. Burial in Fairview cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Tuesday at Fawcett Schmitz funeral home in Winthrop and an hour before services at the church.

An Oelwein woman, 91 year old Loretta Smith, died Saturday. A private family service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Oelwein,. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Public visitation is 4-7pm Wednesday at Jamison Schmitz funeral home in Oelwein, with a 7pm parish scripture service.

A Decorah woman, 52 year old Richelle Lea Halverson, died Thursday. A memorial service for family and close friends will be Wednesday at 10am at Decorah Lutheran church. A celebration of life will follow from 12pm to 4pm at Silvercrest Golf and Country Club in Decorah.

A Readlyn man, 86 year old Ellis "Bill" Shook, died Friday. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Readlyn. Burial in Zion Lutheran cemetery.

A celebration of life service for a former Monona and Marquette woman, 32 year old Samantha Jo Dickens of Sutliff, Iowa, will be Wednesday at 3pm at Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Giard. Inurnment at Pleasant Grove cemetery in McGregor at a later date. Visitation is 2 hours before services at the church. Leonard Grau funeral home in Monona is assisting the family.

Services for a West Union woman, 53 year old Janette Stammeyer, are Friday at 11am at St. Luke Catholic church in St. Lucas. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 2 hours before the service at the church, with a 9am rosary. Burnham Wood Grau funeral home in West Union is helping the family.

Services for an Ionia man, 83 year old Norbert Jenn, are Saturday at 10:30am at St. Boniface Catholic church in Ionia. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is an hour before the service at the church. Conway Markham funeral home is handling the arrangements.
