June 8 funeral announcements

A former Parkersburg woman, 97 year old Eva Jones of Cedar Falls, died Saturday. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11am at Oak Hill cemetery in New Hartford. Public visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Shell Rock.

A former Lawler man, 51 year old William Paul of DeSoto, Wisconsin, died Thursday. Burial with military honors will be held Friday at 2:30pm at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Lawler. Friends may greet the family Thursday from 4 to 7pm at the Starlight Ballroom in Lawler. Hugeback Johnson funeral home in New Hampton is handling the arrangements.

A St. Lucas woman, 90 year old Irene Franzen, died Friday. Services will be Wednesday at 10:30am at St. Luke's Catholic church in St. Lucas. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call 4-7pm Tuesday at the church, with a 7pm parish scripture, and an hour before services at the church. Hugeback Johnson funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

A Janesville woman, 68 year old Mary Sellon, died Friday night. A public visitation will take place on Thursday from 12:30pm to 2pm at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly. Graveside services will follow at Oakland cemetery in rural Janesville.

A Strawberry Point man, Everett "J.R." Willis, Jr., died Saturday. Family will greet friends Sunday (June 28) from 1 to 6pm at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point.

A Charles City man, 76 year old John McMurchy, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday. A private family burial service will be held at Howardville Cemetery, north of Floyd. Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.

A Dundee man, 85 year old Charles "Charlie" Besler, died Friday. Private family services will be held at a later date. Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point is assisting the family.

A Calmar woman, 76 year old Joyce Shindelar, died Friday. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 7pm at Schluter-Balik Funeral Home-French Chapel in Calmar.

A Fairbank woman, 61 year old Barb Brennan, died Thursday. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Woods Funeral Home in Fairbank is handling the arrangements.

An Oelwein man, 92 year old Vidal Mendez, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, with military honors. Visitation will be today (Monday) from 5 to 7pm at Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.

A Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin man, 91 year old Edward "Teddy" Devenport, died Friday. There will be a graveside service at a later date. Thornburg Grau funeral home in Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.

A memorial visitation for a Waverly woman, 64 year old Joyce Maxey, will be Friday, 5-7pm at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly. There will be no formal service or burial at this time.
