Funeral Announcements – Monday, Dec. 23, 2019:

Funeral services for a Sumner man, 80-year-old Darryl E. Kasemeier, will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner, with burial to follow at Union Mound Cemetery, also in Sumner. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sumner and Tuesday one hour preceding services at the church. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting the family.

Funeral services for a former Cresco woman, 100-year-old Harriet Cleone Norland, of Richmond, Kentucky, will be held Friday at 11 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Cresco. Burial will take place in the spring at Decorah Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Friends may call Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services for a West Union woman, 96-year-old Verna Anna Medberry, formerly of Volga, will held today at 10 AM at Elgin Lutheran Church, with inurnment to follow at Elgin Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 PM at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Elgin, which is helping the family with arrangements.

Memorial services for a Cedar Falls woman, 95-year-old Sylvia A. Grekoff, former of Denver and Waverly, will be held Friday (Jan. 3, 2020) at 1 PM at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denver. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.

A Celebration of Life for a Spillville man 60-year-old Howard Lensing will be held Saturday from 2 to 8 PM at the Inwood Ballroom in Spillville, where a short service will begin at 5 PM. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of arrangements.

Laube, will be held Monday, Dec. 30 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Waverly, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and Monday, Dec. 30 for one hour prior to services at the church.

Funeral services for a Charles City man, 36-old Joseph “Joey” (Patten) Brennan, Jr., will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 PM and Tuesday one hour before the service.

A Mass of Christian Burial for a Garnavillo man, 56-year-old Raphael Thomas “Ray” Riniker, formerly of Masonville, will be held Thursday at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, also in Manchester. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 to 10:45 AM, before the mass at the church.

A Manchester woman, 84-year-old Rose Marie Kehrli, died on Saturday. Funeral arrangements are pending with Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.

A Shell Rock woman, 80 year old Connie Rust, died December 19th at the Waverly hospital; a visitation will be held Saturday from 2pm to 5pm at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Shell Rock. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside cemetery in Shell Rock.
