July 13 funeral announcements

Services for a Charles City woman, 87 year old Patricia Thompson, will be held at 10:30am on Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. Inurnment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is assisting the family.

Services for an Arlington woman, 59 year old Laurie Anne Behrends, will be held at 10:30am on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Oelwein. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Friday at the Geilenfeld Funeral home in Oelwein.

Services for an Oelwein woman, 92 year old Essie  Ohl, will be held on Friday at 9am at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in rural Oelwein. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church in Friday.

Services for a Luana man, 55 year old Robert Louis "Bob" Berns, will be held on Saturday at 10am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monana. Inurn,ent will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8pm at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Monona. Visitation will continue one hour before Mass times at the church on Saturday.

A Hazelton woman, 80 year old Shirley Reid, died Tuesday. The family will hold private graveside services. Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisiting the family.

Services for a Cresco woman, 72 year old Kay Eckerman, are Friday at 11am at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco. Burial in Calvary cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Thursday at Hindt Hudek funeral home in Cresco with a 7pm scripture service, and an hour before services at the church.
