A New Hampton man, 88 year old William "Bill" Hurd, died Thursday. Services are pending at Hugeback Johnson funeral home in New Hampton.

A Charles City man, 65 year old James "Jim" Devereaux, died Wednesday. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday from 4-7pm at Hauser Weishaar funeral home in Charles City.

Services for a Cresco woman, 79 year old Mae Potter, are Tuesday at 11am at Zion Lutheran church in Alta Vista. Burial in Phelps cemetery in Decorah. Visitation is an hour before services at the church. It will also be available for viewing on Conway Markham funeral home's Facebook Live page on Tuesday.

Memorial Services for a Readlyn resident, 46 year old Wade Lampe, are Friday (today) at 11am at Zion Lutheran church in Readlyn. Burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held an hour before the service at the church. Kaiser Corson funeral home in Readlyn is helping the family.

Services for a Sumner woman, 93 year old Jean Smith, are Thursday at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Sumner. Inurnment in Mt. Calvary Catholic cemetery in Sumner. Visitation is 4-7pm Wednesday at the church with a 7:30pm scripture service, and an hour before services. Becker and Son funeral home in Sumner is assisting the family.

Services for an Elgin woman, 85 year old LaVerne Ida Butikofer, are Monday at 10:30am at the Apostolic Christian church in Elgin. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Sunday at Leonard Grau funeral home in Elgin, and from 9:30am to 10:15am Monday at the church.

An Independence man, 75 year old Charles "Chuck" Simms, died June 16th. A celebration of life will be held at the Buchanan County Fair Grounds, Sunday at 5pm. Reiff Family Center funeral home is handling the arrangements.

Service for an Ossian woman, 69 year old Charlene Zweibohmer, are Saturday at 2pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church in Ossian. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Friday at the church, and also an hour before services Saturday at the church. Schluter Balik funeral home is handling arrangements.
