Aug. 8 funeral announcements

Services for a Charles City woman, 94 year old Merna Burling, will be held at 11am on Wednesday at First Congregational Church in Charles City. Burial will be at 3pm at Postville Cemetery in Postville. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the start of the services at the church on Wednesday. Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of local arrangements.

Services for a Boone woman, 103 year old Olive Darby formerly of Clarksville, will be held at 11am today at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Burial will be at 2pm at Lynnwood Cemetery in Clarksville. Visitation will be at Hauser Funeral Home an hour prior to the service today.

A Lansing woman, 74 year old Hazel Flynn, passed away on Saturday. There will be a private family service at a later date. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Lansing is helping the family.

Services for a Prairie du Chien resident, 81 year old Lorenzo Sutton, will be held at 2pm on Thursday at Thornburg-Grau funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. There will be a one hour visitation from 1-2pm before services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will follow at Disckson Ridge Cemetery in Lynxville, WI.

Services for a Marquette woman, 95 year old Helen Stade, will be held at 10am on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7pm with a 4pm Rosary at Thornburg-Grau funeral home in McGregor. Visitation will continue an hour before Mass at the church on Friday.

Services for a West Union woman, 83 year old Loretta Jane (Staack) Corkery, will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 4pm until 7pm today at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union and will continue an hour before the services at the funeral home.

Services for 4 month old Remington Whalen of Decorah will be held on Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Hanover Cemetery in rural Waukon. Friends may call from 4-8pm today at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with a scripture service at 4pm.

Services for a Denver man, 84 year old Herman Emkes, will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver. Military rites will be conducted at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday at the kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver and an hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.

Services for a Manchester woman, 74 year old Ellen Vaske, will be held at 10:30am today at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. There will be a private family inurnment. Visitation will be from 9:30 till the time of service at the church this morning.

A Memorial Service for a Waverly woman, 68 year old Ann Nielsen, will be held at 1pm on Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Audubon. Burial of cremains will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.

Services for a Lansing woman, 83 year old Jean Stahl, are Thursday at 11am at United Methodist church in Lansing. Burial in Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation is 3-7pm Wednesday at Thornburg Grau funeral home in Lansing and an hour before services at the church.
