Services for an Independence woman, 75 year old Karen Beatty, are Thursday at 2pm at White funeral home in Independence. Burial in Quasqueton cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Services for a New Hampton man, 79 year old Charles "Charlie" Pierce, are pending at Hugeback Johnson funeral home in New Hampton.

A Waukon man, 89 year old Virgil Johanningmeier, died Friday; service arrangements are being handled by Thornburg Grau funeral home in McGregor.

Services for an Elgin woman, 100 year old Priscilla Hilgemann, are Friday at 11am at Elgin Lutheran church. Burial in Elgin cemetery. Visitation is 5-7pm Thursday at Leonard Grau funeral home in Elgin, and an hour before services at the church.

Services for a Garnavillo man, 78 year old Richard "Dick" Duwe Jr., are Thursday at 10am at St. Paul Lutheran church in Garnavillo. Burial in Clayton Center cemetery with military honors. Friends may call 3-6pm Wednesday at Tuecke Allyn funeral home in Garnavillo and an hour before services at the church.
