An Independence woman, 58 year old Kari Van De Walker, died Thursday; a private memorial service will be held at Reiff funeral home in Independence.

A Celebration of Life for an Independence man, 66 year old Russell Palmer, will be Saturday at 11am at Reiff funeral home in Independence. Friends may call 4-8pm Friday and 9-11am Saturday at the funeral home.

Services for a Cresco woman, 92 year old Edith Meyer, are Saturday at 11am at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco. Burial in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call an hour before services at the church. Lindstrom funeral home is assisting the family.

A Waverly man died Thursday; services for 89 year old LeRoy "Red" Voigts, formerly of Des Moines, are pending at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly.

Services for a Denver woman, 92 year old Lorene Biermann, formerly of rural Waverly and Waterloo, are Monday at 10:30am at St. Paul's Lutheran church-Artesian in rural Waverly. Burial in Garden of Memories cemetery in Waterloo. Visitation is 4-6pm Sunday at Kaiser Corson funeral home in Waverly and an hour before services at the church.

A Farmersburg resident, 83 year old Vergean Schmidt, died today (Friday) at the Elkader Care Center; Leonard Grau funeral home in Monona is helping the family.
