NE Iowa Teen Charged with Pot Possession

Fayette County Authorities have charged an area teenager for having illegal drugs.

At about 8:30pm Saturday, a deputy was working regular patrol in Oelwein, and witnessed a disturbance at a home at 138 4th Avenue SE.

After investigating, 16 year old Courtney Varner of Vinton was discovered to be in possession of marijuana.

She was released to her family and referred to juvenile court services.

Oelwein Police assisted in the investigation.
