Missouri Man Towing Mobile Home Recklessly Causes Police Chase

A wild police chase in Missouri took a bizarre turn on November 23rd when a driver towing a 70-foot house behind his vehicle struck several cars, leading officers on an unexpected pursuit.

The driver continued to speed and refused to heed officers’ orders to pull over, according to reports from the Excelsior Springs Police Department.

Police initially received reports of the odd scene when locals spotted the driver and his cumbersome load. Sgt. Kyle Craven of Excelsior Springs Police said that the driver's erratic travel suggested that he may have been intoxicated.

The officers made numerous attempts to bring the driver to a halt, even employing spike strips. However, the chase persisted as the driver seemingly evaded all efforts to be stopped.

He was traveling all over the roadway, Sgt. Craven stated in a video uploaded to the department’s Facebook page.

The pursuit concluded when the driver misjudged a sharp left turn, crashing into a culvert and destroying a road sign in the process.

Despite the scale of the vehicle and its unconventional load, there were no injuries reported from the incident.

The unnamed driver was promptly arrested and taken into custody following the ordeal. He now faces a number of traffic violation charges.

The unique incident drew humor from the Excelsior Springs Police Department, who commented on social media," It's not every day that officers find themselves in a pursuit with a house."
