Man Killed After Being Stabbed at Iowa Fast Food Chain

A man has died after being stabbed at a fast-food restaurant in Iowa.

According to KCCI, just after 5 p.m. on Monday police were called to a Sonic restaurant located on Merle Hay Road in Johnston, Iowa after a fight broke out at the business. When officers got there they found an "adult male with a serious stab wound and began immediate medical treatment." Unfortunately, that was not enough as the man, identified as 20-year-old Jermaine Whitaker Moses died from his injuries Monday night.

Police conducted an investigation and thankfully have a suspect in custody. Des Moines resident, 55-year-old Spencer Antowyn Pierce was charged with "first-degree murder and first-degree burglary with bodily injury in the case," according to the KCCI report. What's even crazier, and sad, is that this isn't the first time that Pierce has been convicted of a crime to this degree. KCCI reports that he was convicted of first-degree murder in 2013 for murdering Steven Harman (along with an accomplice) during a robbery attempt. It was "thrown out" by the Iowa Court of Appeals for lack of evidence.

Sad that if he would have been held accountable back in 2013, maybe Moses would have still been alive today. Pierce is currently being held in the Polk County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
