Lights In The Park, Tour Sumner’s Christmas Lights
Sumner is shining brighter than ever this holiday season.
The city of Sumner has more lights around town, up main street and down, as well as in the city park again this year. For the second year in a row, the people in the northeast Iowa town have worked to help the city shine as bright as can be by putting together a Christmas and Holiday show of lights synchronized to music.
When you enter the gates of Sumner City Park now thru January 3rd, you will be greeted by a bursting display of lights.
This display of soldiers offers a warm welcome to all the guests and lights the path to the displays. Please stay in your car for your safety while enjoying the lights. Tune your radio to the designated station (signs are posted for the correct stations) for an enjoyable show.
Follow the path to the right, toward the "A" frame shelter, to see this display of kids playing at the ice skating rink. Park you vehicle and walk up to the "A" Frame to warm with a cup of hot chocolate before your magical journey begins.
Once back in your car, venture over the bridge and this festive friend sings the 12 Days of Christmas, make sure you have the right station on your radio dial, there is a sign posted to help you.
Your journey will take you past Mary & Joseph at the Manger,
Make sure to take your time as there are many lights to see on both sides of the road.
These dancing trees are one of my favorites.
You will find plenty more lights and displays at the "Sumner Lights in the Park" display at the Sumner City Park. Lights are on every night from 5pm to 9pm, from now thru January 3rd. I would suggest you go a few times, just to see all of the beautiful lights, sights and sounds of the season.
If you could drop a little bit of cash in the red mailbox as you exit the park, it will help the city put up another fantastic display next year.
Once you leave the park, take a few extra moments to drive around town to see all the lights at the homes and businesses.
