Legendary Iowa Chevy Dealer’s Car Collection Goes to Auction [VIDEO]
If you love classic cars, specifically Chevrolets, then you might want to check out an auction featuring cars from the owner of the largest Chevy dealer in the state of Iowa!
Car Collection of Carl Moyer Going Up For Auction
Carl Moyer was the founder of Karl's Chevrolet. The dealership opened in 1983 in Ankeny, Iowa, and became Iowa's largest Chevy dealer according to KCCI. Moyer was a car lover and went on to collect classic Chevys himself. Moyer passed away in 2024, and now some of his most prized cars are going up for auction.
Family Decides to Auction Off Car Collection
Moyer's granddaughter told KCCI that maintaining just one classic car is hard, but trying to take care of 40 "didn't make sense anymore." She said that making the decision to sell her grandfather's cars was a tough one. KCCI reports that the family is letting Mecum Auctions handle the sale of the cars.
When Is the Auction Being Held?
KCCI reports that most of Moyer's car collection has been shipped to Kissimmee, Florida, for the auction. All but one of the cars will be offered at no reserve, meaning they'll be sold to the highest bidder. The vehicles are said to be in pristine condition. You can view the cars up for auction HERE.

They range from a 1938 Chevy Custom Town Sedan to a 2014 Porsche Boxster. There are also several Corvette convertibles up for auction!
You can bid on these classic cars when the auction begins on January 17th!
