Iowans 16 And Up Can Get COVID Vaccine
This time last year, the entire world was under a lockdown due to the pandemic. Now, there are about three different vaccines on the market in the United States; including Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.

Governor Kim Reynolds is urging Iowans to make the move to get the vaccine, but she is also reminding residents that the most difficult part of this entire process will actually be getting an appointment.
For a few weeks the vaccine has only be available to a select number of Iowa residents, but as reported by Vaccinate Iowa, that is changing. On April 6th, 2021 it was officially announced that all Iowans age 16 and above are now able to get the COVID vaccine.
“I’m asking you to take the final step in getting life back to normal and if you get a chance, get vaccinated as soon as you are able and take whatever vaccine you’re offered,” Governor Reynolds said.
Also, only certain people are permitted to get specific shots. Those who are 16-17 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine though. All three of the major vaccine iterations are preferred for those over 18.
One of the major concerns that has risen because of this recent development has to do with supply and demand. Iowa officials admit that "vaccine supply will be lower than demand for several weeks."
