Recall Alert: Iowa Check Your Laundry Room Now

Proctor & Gamble, the company behind popular laundry companies like Tide and Gain has issued a rather large recall impacting all U.S. states, including Iowa. It's worth noting that if you have young children, or pets at home, this may be an especially important recall.

Why P&G has recalled so many products

This recall, first issued on April 5, impacted 8.2 million products sold in the United States. Customers who purchased any of the recalled items should return and replace them with non-defective products.

The items impacted by the recall include Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods, and Ariel Pods liquid laundry detergent packets. All of these are packaged in flexible film bags. The recall is because the outer packing designed to prevent access to the contents inside can split open. As a result, those who don't understand the danger of consuming the contents could get the chemicals in their eyes or mouth and get sick.

• Tide Pods Free & Gentle
• Tide Pods Oxi
• Tide Pods Ultra Oxi
• Ace Pods Clean Breeze
• Ace Pods Spring Meadow
• Ariel Pods Alpine Breeze

The products above are sold at many Iowa retailers, and on Amazon. Thus far there have been no confirmed cases of illness or death directly relating to the issue that created the need for the recall. Thank you to our sister site in Michigan for the heads-up on this story.
