Iowa High School Boys Basketball Rankings – 1/12/2015
Four boys high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked in this week's Associated Press poll, released today (Monday, January 12, 2015).
Waverly-Shell Rock is the highest rated team among the four. The Go-Hawks (9-0) continue to lead the Class-3A poll. They were a near-unanimous No. 1 this week, receiving 16 of the 17 first-place votes cast by the media members who voted.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck (9-0) has moved up to No. 2 in Class-1A. The Rebels made a two spot jumb from No. 4 in the last rankings, which were released before Christmas.
Aplington-Parkersburg and New Hampton are both featured in the Class-2A rankings. The A-P Falcons (10-0) are ranked fourth, following a two-spot climb. The Chickasaws (9-1) have replaced Aplington-Parkersburg in the No. 6 spot, moving up from No. 7.
Four other area teams are closed to cracking the top 10. Cedar Falls (Class-4A), Crestwood (3A), Janesville (1A) and West Central of Maynard (1A) are all receiving votes for the poll.
