April Fool's Day has come and gone, so I promise you I am not joking.

KCCI reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialists at Chicago O'Hare Airport intercepted a half dozen (6) HUMAN SKULLS on their way to the Hawkeye state. Exactly where in Iowa they were heading (no pun intended) is unknown, but they were reportedly on their way here from the Netherlands, found in pairs in separate boxes.

X-rays showed "anomalies" in one of them and that's when customs reportedly investigated further. Were they just going to send three pairs of HUMAN SKULLS on their merry way and think nothing of it if their x-rays had shown them to be "normal"? That, we don't know, but the whole thing sounds quite disturbing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will now examine them and we hope to find out very soon why this weird shipment was coming to Iowa. CBS Chicago states there was even a "K-9 sniff" involved which found a shipment of live moss bathmats. According to CBS Chicago:

The issue is moss can contain pests or plant diseases, and the shipper didn't get the proper permits

More concerning information has come out from Simpleflying:

Our nation's food supply is constantly at risk from pests and disease not known to occur in the US.  These significant interceptions by our CBPAS at the IMF at O’Hare exemplify CBP's continued commitment to safeguarding American agriculture.

Weird! Days later, they still don't know the who or why, but this is certainly a developing story we will be keeping a close interest in. Or maybe we don't WANT to know? OOF.
