A semi-tractor trailer, hauling a load of about 200 hogs, went onto the shoulder a little too far, went out of control, and rolled onto it's side in the ditch.

The driver, 45 year old Scott Childers of Waucoma, was not injured, but was taken to the West Union hospital to be checked out.

The 2017 Kenworth semi and trailer, owned by Livestock Express in Waucoma, was believed to be totaled. Childers was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted at the scene by the Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Ambulance, Iowa DNR, and numerous neighbors who came out to help with the hogs.
