A road construction project will alter traffic flow on a busy Waterloo street for the next several weeks.

Work to repair the Greenhill Road bridge above the Trolley Car Recreational Trail is scheduled to begin on Wednesday (May 1, 2019). The bridge is located near the U.S. Highway 218 interchange.

A press release from the city's Engineering Department said the work will involve pavement removal and replacement, joint replacement and abutment stabilization. The project is expected to take six weeks to complete, weather permitting.

According to city officials, one-lane of traffic will remain open in each direction for the duration of the project. Work will begin on the exterior lanes, then switch to the interior lanes.

The Trolley Car Recreational Trail will be closed under the bridge during construction activities, city officials said.
