Grundy Center's Kim Van Deest will be one of three inductees into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union's Basketball Hall of Fame.

Van Deest, along with Jamie Boyd (Underwood) and Amanda Zimmerman (Ballard), will be honored Saturday, March 3, 2018 when the trio will be inducted during halftime of the Class 2A State Championship at Wells Fargo Arena.

Kim Van Deest (pictured on left above) was a six-on-six star at Grundy Center from 1985-to-1989. She led the Spartans to the 1988 six-player state tournament. Despite playing just two games in the tournament, she was named the captain of the all-tournament team after averaging 52.5 points while shooting 65.5 percent from the field. She also set a six-player record by making 24-straight free throws in the two games. A two-time all-state selection, Van Deest scored 3,778 career points in her high school career. She went on to Iowa State and played three seasons for the Cyclones.

Jamie Boyd (top right photo) played at Underwood from 2000-to-2004. A three time first team all-state selection, Boyd helped Underwood to back-top-back Class 2A state championships in 2003 and 2004 and was captain of both all-tournament teams. A four-time all-state selection, Boyd finished her high school career with 1,920 points and 1,007 career rebounds while shooting 56.8 percent from the field. She was named Miss Iowa Basketball in 2004 and went on to play four seasons at Kansas University.

Amanda Zimmerman (bottom right photo) starred at Ballard from 2005-to-2009. The helped the Bombers notch a 100-7 record in her four seasons with four trips to the State Tournament. She was named to three all-tournament teams and guided the Bombers to a Class 3A runner-up finish in 2006 and the state championship as a senior in 2009. Zimmerman finished her Ballard career with 1,886 points, 730 rebounds and 303 blocks. Zimmerman played on four NCAA tournament teams at Iowa State from 2010-to-2013.
