Have you ever been to Florida in the winter? It's heaven, right? Palm trees, beaches, and sunshine. It is, in a word, perfect. Well, the weather anyway. Some of the stories you hear about the people of Florida, that's a different story. For me, it's a tradition to go to Florida at least once a year.

I'm very lucky, my dad and stepmom own a condo in sunny south Florida. Still, when you spend 99.9% of your winter in eastern Iowa, it can sometimes make you sad to see what the temps are down there. It's even worse when a Florida TV station rubs it in with a Facebook post poking fun at the upcoming winter storm set to smash Iowa and other midwestern states...

Why not just say, "take that Midwest"?

So we're going to get snow in a couple of days. Maybe a lot in parts on far northern Iowa/southern Minnesota. It's what we midwesterners want, no? Right... anybody? It's why we live here... am I right? Um... anybody.

If you love it, this post from WFTV-9 won't bug you. If you're all about skiing, snowmobiling or going snowboarding, you're not going to be bothered. However, if you don't, like winter, join me in raising a middle finger high in the air...

In some of the comments, you'll see native Floridians scoff at another 80+ degree December day. Same with on these Midwestern-unfriendly posts...

Cruel guys, very cruel...

Okay, this one is pretty cute despite rubbing it in some more...

On behalf of everyone dealing with cold, ice, and snow this weekend I say, enjoy your 80's Florida. I hope to see you soon.
