Nicholas Coffey, 23, was reportedly driving through Deltona in a Mercedes Benz that was stolen out of Ormond Beach with another person when the two were caught on residential security cameras.

Caught On Camera

Residential security cameras captured Coffey on video at a gas station in Deltona at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, where he made a purchase in the stolen car while wearing a face covering around his neck and blue latex gloves.

His tattoos on his face and neck were also visible in the security images, which led to his identification by a Volusia detective who recognized Coffey's distinct features and neck tattoos from a separate case.

The stolen car was tracked using license plate reader data, showing that it was in Deltona from 3 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. Saturday around the same time as the break-ins.

Arrested And Charged

Coffey was later arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with 11 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary of a conveyance and one count of conspiracy to commit attempted burglary of a conveyance, with a total bond of $57,500.

The second suspect involved in the case has yet to be identified, and the investigation continues.
