Florida Man Fires Gun After Karaoke Machine Fails at Bar
A 34-year-old man in Florida pulled a gun at a bar this weekend, after getting upset that the karaoke machine wasn't working.
Music Mishap Turns Violent
A Florida man’s frustration over a malfunctioning karaoke machine escalated into gunfire early Saturday morning at the Overtime Sports Bar in Clearwater, according to police. Authorities say the suspect, Aaron Jablonski, 34, brandished a firearm and fired a shot outside the bar after being denied the chance to sing.
Escalation Outside the Bar
The incident unfolded around 2:30 AM when Jablonski became visibly upset upon discovering that karaoke was unavailable. After leaving the bar in frustration, a 26-year-old patron attempted to defuse the situation, urging Jablonski to calm down. Instead, police allege, Jablonski pulled a Glock 9mm from his waistband, pointed it at the man, and declared, “I don’t f***ing care.” Witnesses reported seeing him fire a round into the air.
Illegal Firearm Possession
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found Jablonski still in possession of the handgun. Given his criminal history, he was legally barred from owning a firearm. Records show Jablonski has prior convictions for battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI, disorderly conduct, theft, resisting arrest with violence, and probation violations.
Facing Serious Charges
Jablonski was arrested on felony charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remains in county jail on a $40,000 bond. A judge has ordered him to stay away from the Overtime Sports Bar and to have no contact with the victim.
The victim, a passionate karaoke performer, told police he feared for his life during the encounter. Authorities continue to investigate the incident while emphasizing the dangers of mixing firearms with alcohol-fueled disputes.
