In the first game of the day at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls at the State Football Playoffs, it was the battle of unbeatens...and it was a battle of attrition.

In the eight-player game, Remsen St. Mary's defeated Montezuma, 108-94. Yes, this is a football score, not basketball. A total of 202 points.  It's the highest combined point total in Iowa high school football history.

Montezuma's quarterback, Eddie Burgess, threw for 689 yards and NINE touchdowns. He also rushed for another four scores.

Receiver Trey Shearer caught 20 passes in the loss for a total of 389 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
