Authorities have charged a Fayette County man with misdemeanor child endangerment following a reported disturbance Monday afternoon.

Sheriff's officials say an argument broke out while 29-year-old Cory O'Dell of West Union and a woman were meeting for a child exchange outside an Elgin gas station. According to deputies, O'Dell tried to pull the 11 month old out of the mother's arms during the argument.

When the woman got into her vehicle and drove away, O'Dell allegedly followed at a close distance.

O'Dell was eventually arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail.
