Dubuque Receives Almost $1.5 Million Urban & Community Forestry Grant

According to a press release from the city, Dubuque, is set to undergo a remarkable transformation thanks to a substantial grant from the United States Forest Service. This Urban and Community Forestry Grant, totaling just shy of $1.5 million, promises to turn Dubuque into a greener, more sustainable community over the next five years.

The cornerstone of this transformation is the ambitious plan to plant a staggering 6,600 new trees throughout the city. This tree-planting initiative aims to significantly boost Dubuque's overall tree canopy coverage from its current 26.2 percent to an impressive 40 percent.
