The Fayette County Sheriff reports a couple of accidents in which charges were filed.

In the latest, at about 8am Monday (Oct. 3), authorities were called to a 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of Great River Road and "L" Avenue, north of West Union. A car driven by 47 year old Kelly Luzum of Fort Atkinson was struck by a van driven by 47 year old Gary Kueker of West Union. No one was injured. There was $5,000 damage to Luzum's car, and $3,500 damage to Kueker's van. Kueker was charged with Failure to Yield when Making a left turn.

And shortly after 3:30am Saturday (Oct. 1), the sheriff was notified of a vehicle in the ditch and on fire, at the intersection of Granite and Iris Roads, northwest of Clermont. No one was in the vehicle or in the area, when the deputy arrived. An investigation determined that 21 year old Daryl Sawyer of Clermont, was driving the SUV when it went into the ditch. No one was injured, but the vehicle was totaled. Sawyer is charged with Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Control.
