2020 Iowa High School Volleyball Rankings – Poll 2
Northeast Iowa continues to be a hotbed for high school volleyball in the state.
The second rankings of the 2020 season feature 16 teams from the region, including five rated among the top five in their respective classes.
The highest rated squad from the area is No. 2 Wapsie Valley in Class 1A. The Warriors are ranked two spots ahead of Janesville, which is No. 4. Also ranked in the 1A survey are Edgewood-Colesburg (No. 9), Gladbrook-Reinbeck (No. 11) and BCLUW (No. 15).
Early in the season, Dike-New Hartford is considered to be the best among six North Iowa Cedar League rivals that appear in the Class 2A poll. The Wolverines are ranked third. The survey also includes Grundy Center (No. 8), Hudson (No. 9), Denver (No. 10), Jesup (No. 11) and Sumner-Fredericksburg (No 12).
La Porte City Union is ranked fifth in Class 3A, five spots ahead of No. 10 Independence. West Delaware (No. 6) and Waverly-Shell Rock (No. 8) are among the 15 rated squads in Class 4A, and Cedar Falls is No. 3 in Class 5A.
The latest poll was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) late Thursday afternoon.
