CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — A Cedar Falls teacher has been accused of stealing student medications from a locked cabinet at a junior high school.

Thirty-three-year-old Douglas Wilkinson was arrested Feb. 9 and is charged with theft, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and filing a false police report.

State authorities say he's been teaching English at Cedar Falls High School and coaching at Holmes Junior High School.

Wilkinson told investigators he's addicted to prescription medications. Court records say a security camera caught Wilkinson entering a locked nurse's office on Feb. 5 and stealing the drugs from the medicine cabinet.
