Body Found in Wtloo Garage

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a body has been found inside a garage near a house fire in Waterloo.

The Waterloo Police Department says the body was discovered inside a detached garage in the 1100 block of Cornwell Avenue this (Tuesday) morning shortly after firefighters responded to the house fire. There was no fire in the garage.

The blaze created large smoke and damaged the house. It was extinguished within an hour.

Additional information on how the body was found, or the cause of the fire and extent of damage, was not available.
