Amazing Classic Car Auction in Central Iowa This Weekend [PHOTOS]

When I saw the pictures of the cars that are going to be auctioned off in central Iowa this weekend, I knew I had to share them with the car-lovers of Iowa. There are over 60 classics being auctioned. Here are photos of many of them, along with details on who will benefit from the sale. You'll love that most of all.

Daryl Hemken had a passion for cars. He collected them over a 50-year period and there are more than 60 of them that were long part of a museum in Hemken's hometown of Williams, Iowa, just east of I-35, and north of Highway 20. Daryl passed away in 2005. His wife of 50+ years, Ann, died in July of 2020. The museum is now permanently closed and this weekend his incredible collection is being auctioned off.

You'll find lots of convertibles, and incredible cars that for the most part range from the 1930s to the 1960s. Combining Daryl's love for cars and his wife's love of education... she was a teacher for nearly 25 years... proceeds from this weekend's auction will benefit McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. According to Rich Penn Auctions, McPherson College is, "the only college in the nation with a 4-year degree in auto restoration."

The cars in Hemken's collection will be auctioned off at 3210 210th Street in Williams, Iowa. The two-day auction is on Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18, with most of the cars being auctioned off on Saturday. The auction will be both in-person and online. It begins at 9 a.m. both days with previews until 5 p.m. tonight and at 8 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday mornings. More details are available HERE.
