Accident Puts 3 NE Iowans in the Hospital

The Buchanan County Sheriff is investigating a two vehicle accident in Hazleton that put three Northeast Iowans in the hospital.

It happened last Thursday at about 4pm, in the 200 block of South Main Street in Hazleton. A northbound car driven by Jean Oudekerk of New Hampton, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robin Fortsch of Oelwein.

Both drivers and a passenger in Oudekerk's car, Bryanna Burco of Sumner, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. There was no indication on the severity of their injuries.

The Hazleton Fire Department and Oelwein Ambulance assisted the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office.
