Young Man Faces Life-Threatening Injuries in Accident

A young Northeast Iowa man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries that he sustained in a weekend traffic accident in Fayette County.

At about 11:30pm Saturday (June 10), the sheriff received a report of a vehicle in a ditch along Apple Road, a mile east of Clermont.

An investigation determined that 21 year old Daniel Streeter of Fayette was driving west when his car entered the north side ditch.

Streeter was initially taken to the West Union hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries; he was then airlifted to Gunderson Lutheran in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

The vehicle, a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, was totaled.

The accident is still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
