Worlds Tallest Dog In Iowa Unexpectedly And Sadly Dies
Sad news...the "World's Tallest Dog" who lived outside of a city in Iowa has unexpectedly died.
The Guinness Book Of World Records has recently verified that a Great Dane from West Des Moines, Iowa was the World's Tallest Dog.
The Great Dane, Kevin, lived with Tracy and Roger Wolfe and their two kids, 12-year-old Alexander and 10-year-old Ava.
The big canine was named “Kevin” after the rambunctious kid Kevin McCallister from the 1990 movie “Home Alone”.
The average male Great Dane is about 2 feet, 6 inches.
Kevin the Iowa Great Dane stood 3 feet, 2 inches or about the size of a three-year-old child.
Guinness measures the World's Largest Dog from the ground to the highest point above the shoulders.
Guinness reports that Kevin would eat upward of 6 to 10 cups of food every day.
Kevin was described as being a friendly, lazy, gentle giant the size of a small horse.
Sad news came on Thursday when the Washington Post reported...
“that Kevin unexpectedly died Wednesday morning from complications following emergency surgery for a gastric problem. The Wolfe family asks that Kevin be celebrated both for the stature he achieved and his short but meaningful life.”
Kevin was only 4 years old.
