Women Arrested for Suspicious Behavior at Echo Valley Park
Two Calmar women were arrested after authorities received a report of someone who was displaying suspicious behavior, at Echo Valley Park, near West Union.
The incident was reported to the Fayette County Sheriff shortly after 4pm Sunday (Sept. 29). Following an investigation by deputies, one of the the suspects, 38 year old Destiny Chambers of Calmar, was charged with Violation of a No-Contact Order. And 36 year old Erin Chambers, also of Calmar, was charged with Aiding and Abetting to Violation a No-Contact Order, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle. Both were taken to the Fayette County jail, where they were held until their initial court appearance.
A local man is recovering from minor injuries after being struck by a car while walking along a road. Shortly after 11pm Saturday (Sept. 28), the Fayette County Sheriff was notified of an accident, in which a truck struck a pedestrian on "T" Avenue, west of Oelwein. A truck driven by 58 year old Kent Reinking of Oelwein was traveling north, when he struck a pedestrian, walking partially in the roadway. The pedestrian was identified as 21 year old Isiah Heidt of Oelwein, who was wearing dark clothing at the time. He was struck in the arm by the mirror of Reinking's truck. Heidt was taken to Mercy Hospital, to be treated for minor injuries.
