Oelwein Police have arrested two local women for their involvement in a fight.

Just before 10pm Sunday (Aug. 29), officers responded to a citizen's report of a physical altercation in the 10 block of 1st Street SW in Oelwein.

After looking into the matter, 27 year old Brooke Latham of Oelwein was taken into custody for Interference with Official Acts, Disorderly Conduct (Fighting), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication, and Assault with Bodily Injury.

Police also arrested 37 year old Nicole Pingree, also of Oelwein; she was charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct (Fighting), and Assault with Bodily Injury.

In a separate Sunday night incident, 34 year old Tristan Westpfahl of Oelwein was cited for Driving While her License is Suspended, and No insurance, following a traffic stop in the 10 block of North Frederick Avenue.

Two young Oelwein residents were taken into custody Friday evening (Aug. 27) for outstanding warrants.

Just before 9pm, 18 year old Dylan Voges was arrested in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue SW, on an outstanding Fayette County warrant, for Driving While his License is Suspended.

And at about 9:45pm, 22 year old Natalie Young was taken into custody in the 100 block of West Charles, on a Buchanan County warrant for the charge of Theft-5th Degree.

An Oelwein woman has been arrested after being pulled over by a Fayette County deputy last Thursday (Aug. 26) in Oelwein.

During the investigation, the officer discovered that the driver, identified as 38 year old Jade Nuehring, was barred from driving in the state of Iowa.

Nuehring also had a valid Fayette County warrant for her arrest. She was held in the Fayette County jail in West Union until her initial court appearance.

An Independence motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident in Fairbank. According to the Fayette County Sheriff, it happened just before 11am Friday (Aug. 27) on 4th Street in Fairbank.

A vehicle driven by 58 year old Randy Weeks of Independence was pulling out of a business driveway, when he sideswiped a pickup driven by 76 year old Gale Nichols of Waverly.

No one was injured, and there was only minor damage to the two vehicles.

Weeks is being charged with Failing to Yield Upon Entering a Through Highway.
