Woman Hit by Pickup in Rural Cedar Falls Has Now Died
One of two people who were struck by a vehicle in rural Cedar Falls last night, has now died from her injuries.
52 year old Kristine Martinson of rural Cedar Falls, had been walking with some family members in the traveled portion of Mark Road, northwest of Cedar Falls, at around 9pm Tuesday (June 19). Martinson's family lives in the area.
According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, a pickup driven by 22 year old Tanner Bodecker of Cedar Falls, crested a hill and hit Martinson.
She was transported to Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, where she later died. Martinson's daughter, Annaleise, was struck by the pickup's mirror; she sustained minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the sheriff's office, which was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Cedar Falls Police, and Cedar Falls Fire/Rescue.
