A Wisconsin truck driver's rig was one of the latest casualties of our recent high winds in Northeast Iowa.

On Thursday afternoon (April 11) at about 12:30pm, the Fayette County Sheriff received numerous 911 calls, reporting a semi that blew over in the high winds on Highway 150, just north of West Union.

The operator, 59 year old Lori Frank of Avoca, was driving her 2016 Freightliner southbound on 150, when a cross wind hit her rig and caused both the tractor and the trailer to overturn on the roadway.

Frank was not hurt, but damages to her semi and trailer were estimated at $25,000.
Winds in the area were estimated at up to 60 miles an hour at the time.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, West Union Police, Tri-State Ambulance, and West Union Fire Department.
