The Fayette County Sheriff's Office reports several weekend traffic accidents.

On Saturday (Jan. 30) at about 3:30am, their office received a 911 call, reporting a one-vehicle rollover on Highway 3, about one mile east of Oelwein. 23 year old Shayla Decker of Aurora was driving a pickup eastbound, when it went out of control, entered a ditch and collided with a road sign. Decker had to be extricated from the wreckage. She was taken to Oelwein MercyOne hospital for treatment. Her 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was totaled. At about 6:30pm Friday, the sheriff got a 911 call of a 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 18 and County Road V-68, northwest of Hawkeye. 19 year old Carlee Miller of Waterloo was westbound on 18, when she slowed to make a left turn. A vehicle behind her driven by 18 year old Collin Bacon of Monona, rear-ended Miller's car. No one was injured. Bacon was charged with Following Too Close, and Miller was cited for Operating without Registration.

And shortly after 7:30am Friday, deputies responded to a 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 150 and 165th Street, north of Fayette. 21 year old Conner Ariss of Dubuque was northbound on 150, when he came upon a car driven by 30 year old Owen Henry of West Union, who was slowing for a left turn. Ariss swerved left but could not avoid a collision. There were no injuries. Both vehicles had $3,000 worth of damages. Ariss was charged with Following Too Closely.
