Waterloo Police Find Loaded Gun During Traffic Stop
Police arrested a man on drug and weapons charges following a weekend traffic stop in Waterloo.
Authorities said 19-year-old Corey Dunn, Jr., was taken into custody after officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension team pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation and an on-going criminal investigation. According to a press release, Dunn was one of three occupants that were detained by police.
Police took Dunn into custody after officers located a loaded .38-caliber revolver, a quantity of marijuana, plastic baggies and some U.S. currency in the vehicle during the stop.
As a result of the investigation, Dunn was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver while in possession of a firearm, carrying weapons, and a drug tax stamp violation. Dunn was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
