WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A jury is expected to resume deliberations Wednesday on the fate of a 24-year-old man accused of a fatal shooting in a Waterloo parking lot.

Perquondis Holmes is charged with first-degree murder and two other crimes. He was arrested in connection with the November 2013 slaying of 18-year-old DaeQuan Campbell. Prosecutors say Campbell died at the wheel of a car after Holmes fired shots and fled the scene.

The jurors began their work behind closed doors a little before noon on Tuesday and ended for the day around 4:40 p.m.
